New at Blog Carnival

We've added a terrific new feature for all our users. Now you can maintain a list of your favorite carnivals at Blog Carnival. All you need is a Blog Carnival account ... and that's free!

This feature allows you to submit posts conveniently from a single page to your favorite carnivals. You also can find the most recent editions of all your favorite carnivals quickly.

Once you log into your Blog Carnival account, you'll see a link called My Favorites just under the Carnival management tools label. Click on My Favorites and you can create a list of your favorite blog carnivals from the pull down menu.

Most of Blog Carnival's services have been targeted to carnival organizers and carnival hosts. The My Favorites feature is for anyone who wants to track just a few of the hundreds of blog carnivals out there.

Carnival Organizers: when you list a new edition, you tell us the "submissions deadline" for that edition. We now send an e-mail reminder about 24 hours prior to the submission deadline. It is sent to the carnival maintainer, the edition maintainer (typically these are the same), and the submission address for that edition. It contains handy links for updating the index and adding entries for new editions.

Note: if you don't want to receive these reminders, just log in and update your user profile.

In response to your feedback, we have reorganized the page that carnival organizers use to record both past editions (and where they were posted), and future editions (when/where they will be posted, and where submissions should be sent). We hope you like it. Keep your suggestions coming.

We've received great feedback on the blog carnival sidebar, and we're proudly releasing version 2 today. We think the layout is simpler and cleaner, and it looks decent with a wider variety of blog style sheets. Enjoy!

Many carnivals have colorful logos, badges, and buttons. We have added a new field to the carnival description page where you can enter the URL of your logo image. It will be displayed right at the top of your carnival index page. What does it look like? There are many examples, but one of my favorite logos was created by the Carnival of the New Jersey Bloggers.

Blog Carnival received its two thousandth carnival edition link today. Every one of them is full of linky goodness.

We have created a box you can put on your webpage that links your readers to carnivals that have just been posted. You can see an example of it on the left. The box is updated throughout the day as carnival organizers record their carnivals on our website.

There's not room for every new carnival posting, but we aim to provide an interesting selection (of course, the full list is available at http://blogcarnival.com).
